MBSC February 2025 Meeting

MBSC Members,

We hope to see all of you at our next MBSC meeting on Friday, February 7, 2025.

This meeting will be held at Schoolcraft College in Livonia. The meeting times will be the same as our previous in-person meetings beginning at 11:00 am EST and ending at 2:00 pm EST.

Your attendance is extremely important and we hope that you will be able to attend this meeting.  If you will not be able to attend the February 7th meeting, please let us know ahead of time.

Description:

The Michigan Bariatric Surgery Collaborative (MBSC) meets tri-annually to discuss data, trends, and outcomes from our robust clinical outcomes data registry. We collaborate and engage with our participating sites on various initiatives aimed at improving quality and decreasing the costs associated with bariatric surgery. After completing this activity, participants will be able to implement advances in bariatric surgery care such as utilizing new VTE risk calculator guidelines to prevent VTE, using PCP and referral data to connect with other physicians caring for and referring bariatric surgery patients, and standardizing protocols to improve the care of patients developing cholecystitis after bariatric surgery.

Expected Results: Participants will be able to implement recent advances in bariatric surgery care.
